Savantwadi is the one of the most popular taluka place of Sindhudurga District known for market for fish, cocnut, betelnuts, jackfruit; wooden articles. Mangoes, amsoles, and beautifully adomed with lush green forests and hills from three sides it has got various waterfalls is also adorned with beautiful sea to its west (Arabian Sea)
Sansthan built two Rajwadas for King. One on Narendra Hill and other in local city for this workers dug out the soil and by this way the moti talav that is reservoir of water was created. As worker got pearls in this work it was named as Moti Talav.
Sawantwadi has got one more water resvoir called (atnesgwar tali) it has got water through out the year. Sawantwadi Nagar Palika has complited 100 Years and recorded as first Nagarpalika in Maharashtra to complete 100 years. Today the wooden articles are exported to germany and france.
